Ok ive narrowed down my bike hunt to the husky te250 or 450.
My current bike is a 00 gasgas ec 200, but havent ridden it in over a yr and 1/2.
I live in Rhode Island where the trails are tight and rocky so a smaller bore bike is good there, but on the other hand there are plenty of open trails, power lines and open feilds where the big bores come into play.
I can get a 450 for about 225 more from my dealer than a 250.
Im no sure which is better for me. I dont want to buy the 250 then have to spend money to get it to the power i want. I could easily spend a few hundred extra and prolly be happy, but could have the 450 for 225 more.
They say the 450 is about 5 lbs heavier which i wouldnt notice anyways, because i'm not a hardcore rider. I ride to have fun.
I sat on both bikes and put them next to each other and couldnt tell the difference except the rear tire and sticker .
what should i do?
My gut tells me id be better off on a 250 with the type of riding i do, but i know the 450 is well worth an extra 225.

For side info- im 19- about 140 -145lbs. about 5 '7 (on a good day heh)

I started riding about 11-12 yrs ago.
z50
ds 80
xr100
yz 80
xr 250
gg ec200 (still have bike)
took a yr and 1/2 off.

never ridden a 450 so i duno what the power is like.
My cousin has a ktm rfs 250 and it is underpowered. He has and still is putting money into it to make it faster. Just the basic mods. i still think te250 will be faster than his is with mods.
