Pastrana crashing all the time? Kinda reminds me of Albertyne. Wonder what the connection there is?

I couldn't care less about your opinion. My problem is how you express yourself in my house. Like I said, learn how to post your opinion without taking shots at other members while doing it.

Spy,

Does the phrase "Doesn't play well with others" bring on a nasty case of dejavu? DRN is a community of people interested in all things related to dirtbikes but not your childish retorts. If you continue down the path of communicating like a 5 year old, you will be treated like one... by a fairly large group of people.

This is Okie's house. He makes the rules and you agreed to them when you joined the community. Maybe you should invest some time in reviewing the rules of DRN

I think Stewart shows remarkable self control for a 16 year old, (many of whom have almost none) ;) . I think he has the talent and the drive to be a champ someday. As far as TP I hope he stays with SX as I think he is a major asset to the sport. He has actually done about what I thought this year maybe a little better. The step up to the 250 class is big, almost all of the 250 riders struggled a little at first and I think the class has gotten faster lately.
They are all faster than I will ever be but not all will be the champ.

lol man you guys got my opinion all wrong. Im not throwing shots out at okiewan. If thats the way it came off then im sorry but I can't stand it when people put down a guy that deserves so much respect. (Pastrana and Stewart both deserve it) Pastrana is a class act and lets all hope he can pull it all together and win some races in the nationals, then come on with vengence for 2003.

In all the magazines, reports said in practice Stewart passed EVERYONE(cept RC). 250 and 125. Travis is a great rider and i am sorry about my earlier posts but let no one forget who he is against, RC, MC, Lusk, Brownie, and many more. But with all the hype around these two guys I think people are counting out Reed.... He is by far my new favorite rider, next to MC who will always be #1.

Also why can't a debate go on in DRN without offense being taken. I find this a little bit Disturbing. I mean you like dirtbikes, I like dirtbikes, we're brothers.

Back on topic tho, let's not forget, early in his career RC crashed, ALOT.

Again... It wasn't your opinion that was the problem. It was your attitude and your way of speaking to others.

shut your mouth
and
Okie cry me a river

That.... is the issue. If you want to be treated with respect, you have to do the same with others.

thats not derespecting anyone man. Its not ment to at all. Jess I guess some guys have some really touchy feelings. how about everyone stops making their own comments on other peoples way of expressing themselves? Who are you to say that my ways are wrong?? No one is allowed to do that but god. THINK ABOUT THAT ONE!

Debate is fine... Nothing wrong with it.... it's healthy... until the level of discussion degenerates to the point of some people telling others to "shut their mouth"!

Spy,
I didn't say your ways were wrong in the eye's of god. I merely pointed out that they are wrong in dealing with the vast majority of civilization (and more specifically, the DRN community). Learn to communicate at a civil and educated level. This isn't pre-school!

BTW.... FMX SUCKS! ;)

YA FMX does suck but the guys that are in it are bad ass. They can bust stuff most of us will never even come close. You gotta give them that. I see your point Twinspar but I am not trying to act like a pre-schooler over here. Hey anyone ever seen Chris Gosselar ride at a practice track before? Well I got the chance on sunday out at Comp Park. WOW - This kid is fast and he has major potential. I just think he needs a little something to put it all together. Good luck Chris.

I dont think you can say Pastrana never lived up to his potential. 4 years ago he was the hype for his freestyle at such a young age. AND I know that alot of people here hate FMX, and you can if you want to. BUT, he came along in that scene and has since dominated on the frequent entries he does... does he really dominate or do the judges just suck up? that remains to be seen, But I have seen him live in last years X-Games and he rode the course like a MX track and it was obvious who was better.
Give the guy a break..(we can call him a guy now that he is 18!!!) he has done more in his lifetime of activities that alot of us have in ours. I mean, the kid is racing rally cars to jumping back flips into the grand canyon. OH, I know some will post here that he needs to be racing and focusing on racing. Well, if you have the opportunities that he has , what wouldnt you do? I think he has lived up to his hype, yeah, he has crashed alot, because he is trying to hang with the top stars of the 250 class. . And how long do we know he has been affected by this flu problem, could've been a while. I dont think he is a complainer, the last year he won his national title, didnt he have a broken arm during the season, then had a fractured foot from a failed back flip attempt? gimme a break. James Stewart will be great, but dont diss Pastrana just yet either. James dominated the amateurs, at 16 travis was big in the scene with freestyle.
I think Travis will come out strong with the nationals this year, and with K-Dubber in some type of quitting stage (I hope not!), there will be no doubt certain pressure for him to stay on the bike and win.
.....
I just dont think you can say that Pastrana hasnt lived up to the hype when the guy just turned 18. was he supposed to come out and kick RC's tail around this year. I no doubt didnt expect that.
.
The skills Travis has on a bike, (from freestyle to MX/SX) assures you that he isnt a "flash in the pan" regardless if he has to retire from racing for too many crashes, the guy has huge guts and insane skills on a bike.

you have to remember that goin 30 minutes on a national level motocross track is way way way more physicaly demanding than a two minute freestyle run i couldnt go thirty minutes racing my hardest but i could do tricks all day long easily

last nite I went to Travispastrana.com, there is a good write up on there by Malcom. It may be onesided, but still a good read about Travis's last 3 months.

And now Langston is hurt. Mike Burns from Austrailia, Shane Watts(Broke playing SX), Bonds, Pastrana, RC got dinged early on and hid from the concussion rule. James Stewart with his foot. When most of the stars get broke within a year something is wrong with this sport.

Hmm, that is interesting. As long as the $$$ are rolling in - in record numbers - then nothing will change as far as track difficulty goes. It looks to me like the track builders need to tone it down a bit. I guess as long as it's "only" the privateers dropping like flies, then the promoters will do nothing - but when a number of SX's greatest stars go down - they might begin to feel it in the pocketbook.
