Kick Starter Help Needed!!!!!!!

The kickstarter on my 90 Ktm 250 MX has stoped engaging,it still will return to the upright postion but will not catch the engine , I have removed the kickstarter and the right cover but I'm unsure what to do next , please take a look at the following pic and walk me through this , if its a really big job to repair this let me know and I'll take it to the local shop thanks:cool:
