I was just wondering what the overall affect of the suspension would be if the lowering links were installed? My son rides a 2000 KDX 220, he is 14 and weighs around 140/145 lbs. How does the lowering of the bike affect the steering and stability of the bike. We race enduros in tight woods and trails. He is big enough to ride the bike in the stock form but I was thinking that if it were a little lower that maybe he would be able to get a little bit more out of the bike.

I put lowering links from Kouba on my 2001 KDX 200 so my boy (15, 5'5", 135#) could ride it more comfortably and was very satisfied. Dropping it just an inch or so made all the difference in the world as far as his comfort with the bike. In fact when change springs and otherwise adjust the suspension so I can ride the bike I prefer to leave the lowering links in place (I am 5'8, 200#) -- it seems to me that it handles a little better in tight woods riding with the Koyuba links.
