IMO! Reed broke his wrist casing the triple earlier. Warriored up like he does, got some MAJOR sand in his mangina, figured he could square up on all 3 riders, and pass them with no room to, warrior style. On another note, How can a factory 450 race team try and say they were almost there, 2nd race in? What did he run in the Aussie SX? Hope his hand heals well. Vintage Bob

If not a complete break on that cased triple, he certainly got did some damage that made it break during the take out.

He hit REALLY hard, twice. Any normal person would have ate the handlebars, then went over them, then got spanked into the ground by their bike. The evidence is there, now for something real? How about how hard Stewy hit that little bump, in the ground after the triples crash. He hit it perfect! Injured ribs hurt more than broke ones. Ah Saturday, Dungey's race to lose now? Did that sand trap eat up a bunch of lites bikes or what? I do not recall the 450's getting ate up at all. Vintage Bob

The sand had a nice line by 450 time.

Finally got to watch it, just looked like racing to me (Reed - Stewart). Great start to the season so far though :)

Nice to see someone viewing the crash without an axe to grind.

Agreed. Stewart's fault on the triple crash, but he and Reed just kindof couldn't get out of one another's way in the corner.

Healthy Villipoto will be giving Dungey a look at his back. Any news on Chads degree # break in the wrist? Took off well for a guy with a broken wrist. Vintage Bob

Ummm. . . Dungey was making time on Stewart IN THE WHOOPS at Anaheim. I don't recall even R.C. doing that.

I totally did not expect this, but it looks to me like Dungey is as fast as anyone other than Stewart - and he's nearly with James.

Given that James tends to pull a couple stupid moves per season (one already), I think Dungey's got a chance at the title if he stays on the bike.

Then again, Dungey's a rookie and it's a LONG season. I suspect he'll run out of gas late in the season just like he ran out of gas at lap 16 of Anaheim.

I got no axe to grind. I think both Reed and Stewart are goobs. Yeah, maybe James is a badass for riding hurt, or maybe dumb for riding hurt, or maybe a drama queen and not as hurt as he let on. But that first lap crash was ALL on Stewart and riding like he's the only guy on the track (Grant hit the nail on the head there)

Reed's a bit of a pud for the helmet slap, but the crash in the corner was just racing. Stewart heading to Reed's pit after the race was a bit chickens*** on his part.

Dungey is a class act. I also hope Tedesco steps it up. With the top dogs being doofuses and getting themselves hurt, I think it's going to be Villopoto's title to lose. And Dungey is the guy to take it from him.

Come on... Reed's "pass" had attitude written all over it. Cheap shot. If he was the better rider he would have had the opportunity to be a class act, instead he chose a "second best" move.

Reed's "pass" as you call it was nothing more than Reed taking the exact same line he had taken the 4 previous laps combined with Stewart reacting to Millsaps and Brayton turning down early.

Check Kinney Jones photo's on cycle news, if it was a take out Reed's front tire would have been aimed directly at Stewart instead he's got the brakes locked up and is trying to turn out of the way.

Take out? No. A bonehead move, just like Bubbles, Yes! When was the last time Stewy felt his practice time was good enough, and rode no more till race time? JBS at speed through the pack, fine, JBS anything less is when he gets involved in calamities, imo. Reeds site is quite, like the blog board is down, JBS's is a hot bed though. What a bunch of haters! And the story is that JBS NEVER touched Chads bike in the pits, much better. Come on Saturday! Vintage Bob

Thanks for the pic, my bad. After seeing Reed not able to make the pass on a shaken Stewart, I was assuming. I can't hardly see any reason for a suspension in the adreneline-filled "get off me Bubba" helmet-lift by Reed.

Chili, I watched the race again.. Stewy was running that outside on the entrance then turning down tight every turn for the previous few laps.. Reed was following him.. Every time.. Then coming thru those whoops before the take out, he shifted his line so that he'd enter the turn where Stewy was exiting the turn..

The video doesn't lie.

Actually... Stewarts handle bar goes right into chad reeds hand as stewart takes his hand off his handle bar and grabs reeds jersey as he is falling, and if someone was laying on my broken hand and not making an attempt to move i think i would push him off the fastest way i could too.

Also stewart turned down way earlier in that turn than he did the other laps (because of the people in front of him ofcourse).

So you're saying that was a takeout move? If so send me your size so I can bring you the appropriate size skirt when I come to Indy :p

I'm saying that in my opinion, it was a take out. Based on what I saw in the video.

I have been wrong before, and certainly will be at least once more before I die..

Thanks for the link, did you catch the quote by James that after watching the tape it was nobodies fault? He stated he was going outside like he had the previous bunch of laps but because they bunched up he cut down.

If it wasn't Reed/Stewart, then I would say that it was just a poorly executed block pass gone wrong... Considering Reed's blatant take-out attempt at Vegas last year, and him being well behind James in the points this year, I am a bit suspicious....

I wouldn't mind seeing Dungey win it all this year. He seems like a really good/nice kid with a great work ethic, and has picked up some serious speed in the last year or two. I'm hoping Stewart is OK because I just really enjoy watching him ride.

Yeah, yeah.. I caught that..

I'm not a Stewart fanboy by any means, I just can't stand CR..

I'll admit my bias, I don't like the guy, and will view him in a poor light whenever I get the chance.

I still think it was a take out.

What happened to thats racing attitude. I kind of like the thought of some real racing, remincinces of the old Bradshaw and matiasevich days, I like it.
