At the race, during the main, watching RC ride out and thru the tunnel, he was slapping hands of the kids who were hanging over the rail to the tunnel, so his spirits were ok. He wasn't sulking.
On TV, did anyone notice the back end sagging on his bike? It sure looked like about half the travel was gone to me. Broken shock collar is what he told the interviewer.
As for Bubba dropping back, he did kick that 450 non-stop for about a lap and a half. That would take the wind out of about anyone's sails. And a cruising Bubba is still about as fast as almost anyone else on the track.

I'm going to try to make Dallas next year. I have too many plans this year. I live in Albuquerque so Phoenix, and Dallas are close enough, but my goal is to see the final round.NM_KDX200 said:Same here...I drive 600 miles 1-way to get to a SX (Dallas) and I'm up there in the stands by noon watching practice, qualifiers, etc. I go to the pits, walk around the stadium, walk down to the track, etc., etc. Three-days later, if I breathe real deep, I can still smell the race gas. That's why I go.
This year, I'm going to stay for the trophy presentation. I might be the last person to leave the stadium!! :aj:
Solid State said:What an amazing set of circumstances. No one could have guessed that Bubba and RC would have such issues in the same race. This year may come down to the wire. The Bubba incident adds new relevance to that commercial that plays adnausium every week!!
Indeed. If I'm gonna cough up the jack to drive to a supercross, motel for a couple nights, and meals, I'm gonna get everything I can out of it. Otherwise I'm gonna stay home and watch it the next day.NM_KDX200 said:. . . Larocco either stalled it or washed out in the corner before the long whoop section. You can see him kicking away in some of the shots. Can't remember when that was, though (early, late, etc)funktree said:finally watched the race, didn't notice any mention about Larocco. Maybe someone who was there can tell me, was he riding that far off the pace or did he have a crash? He seems to be having a harder time this year being as consistent as he has in the past.
nikki said:Actually, I think Evans might have put Larocco on the ground in that turn...

From memory for the last 2-3 years (excluding the year he was out with injury) he has led in the points after the other main contenders had slow starts to the season and was able to fairly comfortably make the podium to complete the championship.
That's what's really cool to me. The top 3 excel at different areas, which is one of the reasons the title is so close.nikki said:Plus I also believe every track is different, and certain sections will favor certain riders. Like Chad might be the fastest if there is a gnarly whoops section. Bubba might excel if there is a tricky rhythm/jump combo. RC might dominate if there are some crazy turns.
