I am going to put a Stroker pipe on my '01 KLX 300. What should I expect? Will it be harder to start? The only other modification I've done is replace the stock idler gear. I've also removed the endplate and the airbox baffle. Finally, what jet should I use? I live at an elevation of 790 ft in Northwestern Ohio.

I put the Stroker headpipe on my KLX250 a few months ago. It gave a little more grunt to the very low end. I didn't have to re-jet or do anything differently. It started as easily as it always had.

Stroker Head Pipe

My dad did the same mod's as you did except the pipe. He dropped the needle clip one position and changed the main jet from a 128 to a 132. The mixture screw is set at 1 3/4 turns out. The stock settings made the bike too lean with the baffles removed. Elevation is about 100 feet. Before you buy the Stroker pipe try removing the stock pipe and grind out the huge blob of weld around the flange, inside the pipe. You will gain 10% in flow area, and it's free.
