Ahh group hug Elk and Bandu,
Heh well I never thought this thread would turn into this but apparently I was wrong, there are some members here with small:p ...umm I mean big ego's whatever right? Whatever floats your boat.

Bandu is correct, see the whole world, countries all have their strong points and sometimes they are enough reason for us to love the land we live in. I love vistiting the US, however I love being Canadian, I love living in Canada, I am proud to say
I am Canadian!:aj: (ok ok beer commercial over now)

All hail to the Canadians. The kings of kings. No one compares. They kick everyone's ass in everything forever and ever. No one has a right to even breathe the air, but them. Everyone knows Canada is superior in all ways, we're just down here pretending to be as good. It's our inferiority complex that drives us to believe we're even close to the Canadians.:silly:

The last time I ran into this kiind of thing was in Australia--in the outback. Everyone was claiming everything in the whole world was invented by Auzzies. One of them even said they've all got the biggest "tools" in the world, if you will.

If you really want to believe that basketball was NOT invented by James Naismith (former first head coach of the Jayhawks) , well go right ahead. I don't care.

I really don't care--about Canada that is. I just don't care, and I wouldn't know of or care about Canadian excellence if it was staring me in the face.

Don't even start with healthcare.

And what's up with the "your ignorance never "seizes" to amaze me" stuff and then backpedaling like a schoolgirl & apologizing. DOES his ignorance never cease to amaze you, or DOESN'T it? Which is it?

As an individual born in Southern Alberta and living most of my life there, I'd have to say the weather sucks up north. I hated scraping my windsheild, plugging my car in, shoveling sidewalks and parking my dirt bike over winter.

We had something called a "Turkey Enduro" (not really an enduro) that was held in March on the local motocross track, when everything in the sun was mud and the ravines were still full of snow. The glare ice off cambers made for an technical event. 25 years later, I can't ride an off camber even when there's traction.

The worst thing about being South of the Border (U.S.) is the privatized health care here. Everyone I work with (Americans included) think that the system is nuts. I won't say any more about it, because it's like talking to people involved in a cult.

US or Canada? Well, I can't skate anyway, so I guess it's the US (when I was in Canada, we always called it the "States").

Now, if you don't mind, I'll sit back in sunny Southern California, and wash down my apple pie with beer. Eh?:moon:

Nephron,

Dr. James Naismith did invent basketball. I don't think anyone would disagree with you. However, Dr. Naismith was a Canadian who invented the game of basketball while in America working at the "Y".

Just proves the best things happen when the two countries work together. Oh, and thanks for letting us use your military, I can't imagine what my taxes would be if we had to fully fund the military as well. But, like the other canucks here is do love my country good and bad.

Elk, I'd be more worried about the lead paint he's putting in there, add to that all that BC hemp weed stuff you can get in Vancouver, top it off with brain freeze in winter, C'rider hasn't got a chance :p Prancing around in his skivvies when the temp hits 0 degC to celebrate the coming of spring ain't no big surprise

Also just goes to show you most Canadian-born American-at-hearts would rather live and work in the US.:)

What's the history of Naismith in Canada? My bet is his parents were from NY, they went across the border to pick up some St. Pauli girl. She dilated, effaced and dropped him in one of their special socialist birthing prisons & brought him promptly back to the US as soon as the cord was cut.:moon:

Let 'em fly girls!:debil:
