I had a 71 Honda S600 Coupe. It was pickle green and had 10 inch wheels. It wasn't a 2-stroke though. All the Honda 600 series cars had a two-cylinder OHC four stroke engine. You're thinking about the older Saab 2-stroke cars.

oops you're right well they say the first thing to go is the memory, I do remember that is was nothing to pick up the back of the car to change a flat.

never had to tickle a bing though

I tickled mine recently. Maybe I'll go tickle it right now. Might even tickle a couple of Amals if I'm feeling frisky.

And opposite the tickler was the "Sipper" that was attached by a cable to a lever next to the clutch lever. At first glance i thought it was a compression release. Pull the lever and it would pull about 5cc of gas from the bowl and dump it in to the crank. Dont even think about using it to start the bike though, better to push the tickler until gas gushed from every oriface, then "try" starting. Bing! Bing! Bing! Bing!......

Grab straps on dual sport seats. What the F was that strap for anyway? not like a passenger could grab it to hold on or anyting. Maybe it was there to tickle your bing? :p

In the mid 80's they were putting trick electronic odometers/speedometers on the KDXs and big bore XR's before going back to mechanical units...

I remember a steel belted off-road tire brand by the name of "TerraFlex" (sic?)...

Neon Seat covers and slip on seat covers...

Not likeley, you ever try to lift one of those pigs :) . Then again, Maybe the bag on the back fender of the KLR was to put your nuts in when you dropped them trying to lift it :O Ohhhh!

Never seen no rotory cycle. I do remember the wierd Honda CX or CBX or someting like that with the jugs sticking out quite oddley :)

That was a Honda CX500. Those were some weird looking bikes. The Suzuki RE-5 was hideous, and really bulky, too. If I ever get back to Barber's Museum, I'll snap some pics of butt-ugly bikes from the past.

It's carb cleaner - that stuff will kill ya.

They're cool in a hideous kinda way. Sorta like a mid-seventies Formula One car. I haven't seen one in a while, but from what I remember, the engine was awkward looking.

HEY! I used to "tickle" those bing carbs, hell when i finally got on a honda I had a heck of a time starting it, couldn't "tickle" the carb, lay it over to get a good charge of fuel, and damit the honda had the kick starter on the WRONG side! Likely one of the only people in the US that felt "awkward" starting with the right leg.

Here is another deal not sure if mentioned, but how about rear forks on those harley's?
for that matter a harley dirt bike. :)

Watched a 'prestine' RM 370 (green on yellow) last weekend in the vintage class take 1st overall,..with stock suspension was airing it out like the topguns..... wouldnt mind having that machine for kicks. I had one back when they were the bomb.... like a decent ex-girlfriend,...I never forgot that machine. Even when they came out with the updated RM 400, I liked the 370 better... .>distant gaze<
Geeze,...we keep this up and we're gonna get sent to the 'vintage forum'.

Stop listening to the squirel voices in your head Pred, try and concentrate on the dancing antelopes, they are much wiser when it comes to picking vintage bikes.

Now Rich, you're just biased against the squirrels since they peed on your better half's seat! How can you say the 1980 YZ465 isn't one of the greatest bikes ever? Should I go for an '81 instead?
