That gives RC a 35 point lead over Chad with 7 rounds left. If RC averages 20 points (3rd place) at each of the remaining rounds, Chad would need to win seven in a row to catch RC for the title.

How about Langston? Ripped through the pack from dead last to qualify in his heat, then dominates the main. We should have some good racing between Langston and Milsaps if Davey can get a good start.

You know how bizarre it is that Langston is doing so well in SX? What's gotten into him? He's been top 10 in SX (mostly) since he's gotten here, and now he's dominating? They say you do everything better when you have a kid....hard to say. Pro Circuit put a buttload of R&D into that 4 stroke, which is reputed to be the best bike out there. Maybe that's it?

What's up with Jesseman? A couple years ago, the only riders faster than him in SX were Reed and Stewart, and he beat Reed once.

RC doesn't seem to have been pushed. His laptimes the last several laps were 1 or 2 seconds slower than Reed's. Must have been way out front. Maybe Stewart will push him. Maybe not.

Just finish watching the race. Got ta wonder if RC trains on a Mechanical Bull. I swear I seen him spurring the bike to keep it under him and up to him. FASTER... KICK KICK.... FASTER . CR look deflated at the end... so much for getting into RC's head. :boss:

Yeah, he was coasting to the finish. Why push and risk a crash when you've got a huge lead? Even coasting, Reed was over six seconds back at the end.

RC was in the 49s early in the race. Reed barely cracked the 50s, if he even managed that.

To me, the most telling thing was the first lap. RC took the holeshot and then left the field for dead. He had a 3 second lead in the first lap, if my memory serves me correctly. He stretched it out to over 9 seconds before he put it on cruise control.

The look on Reeds face at the end, while he still had his helmet on, said it all. To quote the movie Aliens, "Game over, man! Game over!" ;) Reed will keep trying because he's a class act pro, but I think he's realized that RC is going to win the title and there isn't squat he can do about it.

When I first heard that Grant signed with Kawasaki I had a feeling that his results would dramatically improve...It seems like almost no one could race the KTM 250SX at the pro level and finish without crashing...I think getting off that thing was the best thing to happen to Grant...And as you've stated Pro Circuit has done their homework as well adding to the winning combination.

I'd like to see him in the 250 class on a KX250...Sure would help to tighten up the gaps between everyone.

Now after this race, RC's story of going into "protect mode" in the 03' season seems alot more believable.

At least Bubba will be back..It'll add some excitement to the races and help tighten up the gaps...

This could put Windham or Larocco in a better position for points at the end of the season

you think the story will be any different at hangtown?

Im hoping it wont, gets kinda boring watching the same guy win.. I would definately help our sport if more riders had a chance.. Plus i think RC racing a RMZ450 could be at a disadvantage too where the YZF and the KX both have track time along w/some pretty good riders..

If anyone was going to go for RC's weakness it would be SX. Outdoors unless the bike breaks, I don't think it would matter how much track time the YZF, CRF, or KX has. RC is like they used to say about Don Shula,"today he can beat you with his, and tommorrow he can beat you with yours."
Weather he is Green, Red, or Yellow he gets the same results.

I wish RC would skip the AMA nationals and go to Europe and do the Grand Prix's. Hell he has already had two perfect seasons outdoors what else does he have to prove?

I agree with the comment on langston on the KTMs-they were making life miserable for him.

I can't believe he stayed with them as long as he did..... I wonder where he'd be right now if he had started with one of the Jap brands from the get go? You do have to give him respect though..... He had ALOT of loyalty to KTM for years.

Why would he do that? The AMA series is widely accepted to have the toughest competition so this is the toughest championship to win. Also, who wants to schlep around Europe all summer in a motorhome when you can race and then fly home and see your wife, ride on your own practice track, etc.

Besides, Suzuki is paying him to win AMA championships. More importantly, maybe he can rattle off a third perfect season, this time for Big Yellow, and prove to the world that it was the rider and not Honda that did it. That same motivation worked for Valentino Rossi in MotoGP.

I was there (spectating of course)! My first professional sx ever... It was AMAZING to see how fast these guys are in person... Especially Carmichael as it is just un-real how fast and smooth he is... I had a blast and will be back next year for sure!

I wish he would race in Europe to before he packs in!

He might want to race over here one day so he can maybe take on Everts/Pichon/Coppins and take home a world championship as well as his many AMA titles! I'm sure that would be another perfect season too! :boss:
