stuck gearbox

In one of my last rides I've managed to broke the gear shift lever. Really don't know how I did it... maybe a rook or a wood stick... anyway, I've welded the thing and it's back in place.

The problem is that now, sometimes, the geras get stuck in 2nd or 1st. It´s not a problem of bad selection (take foot of lever, put foot on lever again doesn't make it shift from 2nd to 1st when jammed).

Anyone has any ideas on what is the problem and can it be solved without splitting the cranckcase apart?

See my thread... Mine wasn't occasional like yours. could be one of the same springs. It looks like there are (2) that effect this or that could get you stuck in a gear.

Also check the shift mechanism under the right side engine cover to see if anything was bent when you broke the shift lever....

From the outside everything is fine. I'll have to go inside to check the springs and/or the shaft.
