Okay so I just have this little problem and I don't know if im being selfish or not. It has to do with the postings of yzdesertguy, I know the guy made some screwup's and mistakes and he paid for that. Maybe he is a super good person in real life, I don't know these things. But the fact that he is still posting in other forums other than the for sale forum makes me uncomfortable. I just don't feel he is a worthy DRN brother, someone I can trust, someone I can rely on.

This is where I feel somewhat selfish, sure he screwed up, we all screw up. We all make mistakes, but I feel if Elk and Mully never got involved motofamily never would have seen his wheels or his money.

The reason this bugs me is because I was seconds away from sending him cash for the motor he was selling that im sure I would be up the creek for :(

But back to the point that he is posting under some other name selling MORE parts (that get deleted right away) did he not learn his lesson? Im guessing not since the wheels he sold wern't what was advertised and they were basically crap.

Is he worthy of being part of the DRN family? I am not to sure, it's a priveledge to post here and a priveldge to be part of this family.

I don't like having brothers that I need to check my back on constantly.

Call me selfish, or show me the way lol, I just felt I needed to say this :thumb:

Kids do make mistakes but I think he shouldn't be allowed to sell on the site for a while. If he wants to be a member and interact here, maybe that will help him grow up a bit and realize what he did. It might help him by seeing our daily goings on and maybe make him re-think how he handles transactions in the future. Don't know, maybe he will always act this way but I don't think we'll know until it happens. I'd like to say dump him for what he did and that's cool too, we need to all know that we can trust each other and what he did is not a good start!:thumb:

There are a lot of people I don't think are worthy but they have a right to post as long as they follow the rules.

I'm sure he'll show how uncooperative he is and will be a goner as a result.

We can't be too worried about bad members b/c usually they just fade away and many times they turn into great contributors. It just depends on the circumstance, maturity and opportunity.

True enough Ivan :thumb: I was thinking maybe he will be weeded out, but if not? So what, then maybe he will become a good member and all will be well.

It was just the fact that once again he is selling more parts pushed me a little too far :|

Sometimes a turd is a turd, and no matter how much deoderant you spray on it, it still stinks. BUT sometimes a turd can create some great fertilizer that turns out wonderful vegitables. I think it all depends on how the turd is handled. :uh:
And remember, when you are the top turd of the pile, you are still just a turd.

(Whatintheblueblazes is Jaybird rambling about?)

He was selling under scrapinhard, it's his alter ego "yzdesertguy's" "Friend" :silly:

Basically selling the crap that he never pawned off on the rest of us.

Better question is whether we should put a read only ban on the buyer after he gets a chance to ride one of those YT's

This guy really needed to put in the "Time Out" area. 96WhyZee125 and I tried to root him out but he decided to try(under another name) and post the same merchandice. MotoFamily suffered enough......Period. You expect to buy 125 wheels.......You get them.....Not 250 wheels as what Motofam told me about. This guy needs to go, false representation to boot. He just needs to go, no warning what so ever... I'm sorry but I never tell my customers what they need. They know what they need, I sell what they want. I may loose, but I sleep well at night. This joker sleeps like a rock for what he can get.

CR, I concur 100%, this guy almost took me for the motor and the forks and shock as well; I smelled it before I bought and bailed from the deal. I have been watching this guy and the situation w/ Moto and been ready to warn anyone as he tried to sell (scam) anything else here. As soon as he posted as scrapinhard I knew who he was & what he was pushing so I did the Report to Mod thing, it worked. The problem I see is he has an AOL account and can create an infinite number of new email address so that he can sign in here and be a pest w/o using the same email to register, isn’t that the way it works Okie? Anyway YZdesertguy had been here at DRN for at least a year, when I buy from the "For Sales" and I do a lot, I look at the sellers history, how long they have been here, what their Mojo looks like, (I had to throw that in :) ) and decide if I want to buy from them. It may not be fair to a new guy that comes here and has something to sell before he makes a literary contribution, but too bad! :debil: We need to be careful and check things out. As far as this clown, and anyone else out to defraud another DRN'er they need to be gone!

Let's go have some fun! :thumb:

sounds like we need a system here like the one one ebay, where we can rate the seller or buyer, may help those that buy or sell a lot of stuff here on DRN. Mind you, one would think that we don't need that here. Here is something to keep in mind, try and use an escrow service when spending a lot on goods you know little about and sellers you know even less about. The escrow agent will accept the payment, and instruct the seller to ship. Once the buyer receives the goods, and all is in order, the buyer instructs the agent to pay the seller. If the goods are not up to scratch, the buyer can ship the goods back and have his money refunded. The agent then returns the money to the buyer.

You can pretty much determine your level of risk just by checking his background/history here, If he's new and has only posted for the buying and selling, I would consider him a high risk and not get involved at all, on the other hand, someone like you,who I have never met, I consider a No risk and would enter into a transaction based on your background and history here; So the system is already in place, sorta/kinda

I agree with JPIVEY on this one-If the guy has a Sept. 2002 join date, I'd be very cautious of buying from them. Some of the stuff I have bought has been from guys that don't post much, but they have been around and I have seen their previous posts so I felt comfortable with the fact that they would be straight shooters. So far, I'm batting 1.000.

Just a thought, ... Set the forum so that STM members only can sell items in the "for sales" Okie, wonder if you could set it up so that thread starters in that forum would have to be STM, once the initial thread has started then anyone could respond. It would have the potential to raise membership, and eliminate some of the drifters and poachers.
Again, just a thought.
