What Else Can I Expect To Do After Putting On An X-Ring Chain?

I'm wanting to put on an X-Ring Chain with steel sprockets on my kdx. What other things should I expect to do? Chain Guide or case guard replacement? And what size chain is on an 01' kdx 200? 420? 428? or 520?

Welcome--read the previous posts on this subject and buy you a factory manual for your motorcycle for reference. Your KDX uses 520 chain--108 links if I remember correctly in stock form. No problems at all going to xring over standard. Your standard chain guide will wear out to fit the wider xring chain and you may want to replace it in time with the wider & heavier FRP one. I went to X ring when my 01 was new and have not replaced it yet so it lasts a good while. Enjoy your new bike and read, ride, read. Cheers John
